A forest is growing in Norway. In 100 years it will become an anthology of books.
“A forest has been planted in Norway, which will supply paper for a special anthology of books to be printed in one hundred years time. Between now and then, one writer every year will contribute a text, with the writings held in trust, unpublished, until 2114.”

THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS, a “bloody and taut fantasia of suspense” will be released on 8/29.  You can find the trailer here.

“Recently, several medical experts, including pathologists, neurologists, stem cell researchers, and hospital surgeons, joined forces with a group of UK artists to record an album. Using the experts’ wealth of knowledge and the human body as a source of inspiration, [artists]… were able to understand “why a chosen organ works and fails” and then create songs “that build on this and their own emotional history and feelings.” The resulting album, entitled Body of Songs, is due out sometime in 2015.” The collective has unveiled a contribution from  Bat for Lashes  songstress  Natasha Khan .

Knotting (NSFW). I am inexplicably obsessed with this.

I love the idea of these “breakfast nachos” over at PPK

Lastly, remember by previous mention of a black metal diet blog?  Well, this isn’t it, but I did enjoy reading 8 Reasons Why It’s Hard to Be Goth And Work Out.

I also just saw that trailer for The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears & I'm intrigued. Bonus, as far as industry representation: Hélène Cattet is a woman of color!

I'm trying to expand my horror horizons (horrizons?) before October, as I'll be moderating a panel discussion at GeekGirlCon - the panel is called (Not So) Strange Appetites: Women and the Horror Fandom. I have some gaps to fill. What are 3 of your favorites?

Oh my goodness, how I would love to be present for that! I am not sure exactly how this fits with your panel and subject matter- but what about Ginger Snaps or May? Also maybe Possession?

If you haven't already read it, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND House of Psychotic Women by Kier La-Janisse.

Tanya says

I AM reading it! (Well, in bits.) :D
